Draped and built Zuzu’s big dance number costume for the show “Dance Nation”

Wings draped in the half scale to practice scale. There are two seams down side back. The two front pieces are half circles nearly 120” wide and the center back piece is a quarter circle. Bone casings top applied and carbon fiber rods inserted into casings. Rhinestone appliqués applied with hot plate press on both inner and outer side of wings. Beaded hip swags draped on the form to create shape. First hand cut silk organza bias to finish and bind off raw edges of hip swags. Applied fringe and trim to hip swags. Basted skin tone mesh to the inside of the leotard at center front and center back in a large square and allowed designer to sketch on the body the shape and size of cutouts desired. First Hand stitched the mesh and leotard together. Cut out leotard where mesh was to show through. Applied all trim at neckline and around cutouts. Individually cut out petals and used the pearl edger with gold metallic thread to finish the raw edges. Stacked in place and created rosette for the top of the petal.
