Inspired by a previously created rendering. The bodice of the dress was draped over the corset with double darts at the front (which would be period appropriate) and a curved princess line through the back. This ruby silk dupioni is flatted to a black cotton sateen through the bodice and black silk organza through the skirt. Each skirt panel waistline ranges from a ten inch panel at center front to the side front and side back panels that are twenty-two inches wide. Each panel is about fifty five inches long to go over the hoop. The belt and pleated bertha collar are made from a crushed velvet. The rosettes are made from leftovers of the silk dupioni and are twisted and turned to create their shape.
